How to pay for DSTV subscription without a debit or ATM card

A lot of people particularly in Africa now watch cable tv thanks to DSTV.

DSTV does not provide the Pay TV service for free as they charge a monthly fee for it called a subscription and users can choose from a variety of bouquets depending on their budget or preference and pay in advance monthly or annually.

While some people normally pay for their DSTV subscription using a bank issued card on on ATM or online portal, others choose to make payment without having to use their debit or credit cards.

Ways to pay for DSTV's service without a bank issued card:

1. Cash at the office: You can pay cash at DSTV's office closest to your and your subscription will be activated almost immediately. You just need to take cash to a DSTV office close to you, provide them your smart card number and give them the cash. Ensure you go there with correct change so you don't waste time and know how much your current subscription for your bouquet costs. I've gone to their office at several times in the past and it was really stressful as you'd have to wait on a long queue.

2. Bank transfer: Yes, I've come to know that DSTV also accepts bank transfers to their account from your account and when making payment, ensure you include your DSTV smart card number where it is required.

3.Bank deposit: Yes, it's a bit like bank transfer but it's more stressful at you'd need to go to the bank and pay money into the account with cash or cheque. You'd also be required to provide your smart card number.

4. Internet banking
Mobile banking: This may involve using a mobile app on your phone or dialing a USSD. You may be able to make payments using mobile money from a mobile money account or make payments from your mobile banking app all from the convenience of your mobile phone

The above are some of the various ways I've paid for my DSTV service without a debit card and at times, it may be necessary to use any of these methods.
