My Chicken Republic review

I don chop for Chicken republic and it's only fitting that I share my experience.

It's not everyday one gets to eat out especially if you are not the kind of person who eats out everyday. Anyway, It's not everyday people get to eat out at middle class restaurants in town.

Why do I refer Chicken republic a middle class restaurant? Well, it's because it's not a low class restaurant or a very high class one but one targeted at people in the middle class. Some people can afford to go there on a regular basis while some can afford to go there on a weekly or monthly basis at least.

Although you can buy a plate of food at most local restaurants in Lagos for around N200, a full meal goes from at least N650($4) at Chicken republic and that excludes drinks. Bottled water at CR goes for around N150 for the 75cl and N100 for a 35cl bottle of coke.

When I say full meal, I mean you can actually go to Chicken republic to eat rice, chicken an a bottle of water all under N800 and have a full stomach. If you are the kind of person who eats a lot, well, you may ask for 2 portions and that may increase your bill to around N1500($9).

On my first visit to the new Chicken republic outlet at Bode Thomas, I noticed that most of their meals if not all were centered around chicken meals. You can have the crispy or normal chicken, chicken and chips with sauce, chicken and rice and so on. They also sell some soft drinks and bottled water too.

Air-conditioning system at Chicken Republic is awesome and so cool. It's best to visit there on hot afternoons just to chill out.

For entertainment, their restaurant does have a cable tv running for your viewing pleasure. You could just walk in and sit down while contemplating on what you'd want to eat.

There is a rest room too available for one's use at a corner of the room within the place.

Customer service is great from the very moment you walk in and the door is opened for you by a guard to the time you make your order before the sales rep.

When ordering a chicken meal such as chicken and chips, there are no cutleries given to you by default except you order for something like rice. Perhaps it may be given to you if you specifically request for it. However, there is a washing basin, hand dryer and washing gel available where you can wash your hands before and after eating.

P.S. There is however something I don't like about this restaurant and it's the bad experience I had battling flies when trying to eat in.There were a couple of flies over my food and I wised I had taken my food away. They need to do something urgently about the flies so that people can actually be encourage to sit down to eat.
