One of the places I love going for shopping is at Shoprite in Lagos and at times, I love buying their food because it tastes good and mathematically priced. By that, I mean the prices for their food is based on weight and so the heavier you buy, the more you pay.

Shoprite sells quite a variety of ready to eat foods that are attractive to the eye but I don't know why they don't sell foods that are traditionally Nigerian. Why can't I buy white rice with Ofe Akwu? Why can't I buy Nkwobi? There is no pepper soup available yet and I'm hoping that in the near future, they would actually start selling foods that are commonly eaten in Nigeria. Well, they sell other Oyibo foods like fried rice, roast chicken, roast fish, fried chicken, chicken in soup, potato chips and so on.

Although, most of the foods being sold at Shoprite are ready to eat, I don't advise you eat them almost as soon as you buy unless they had it reheated for you with their microwave, a task I've seen that some of their staff are not always willing to do.

Personally, I don't advise anyone eating out to eat cold or room temperature food so as to avoid catching bacteria because hot food is better and fights the growth of organisms that could affect your health. That is why it's better to to eat food you buy at Shoprite without microwaving/reheating it first at home or at their store.

Buying food at Shoprite is something I only do when I see that the queue is not long and the staff are actually active and not wasting people's time because it doesn't make sense for me to queue to buy food for up to 30 minutes. As for Shoprite bread, I've never bought it an probably never will because it seems there is always a long queue for bread at their factory.
